The Chicago Urban League hosts nextTHURSDAYS, an invitation-only professional networking reception, to allow sponsoring corporations the opportunity to meet experienced business professionals that fit their immediate and anticipated hiring needs. These events also serve as a platform for professionals to meet peers in their industry and cultivate relationships with potential employers.

Unlike traditional networking events that prove to be more social and transitory than professional and substantive, the nextTHURSDAYS networking events are designed to optimize networking skills and yield measurable, positive results. Each 2 1/2 hour event consists of the following:

·      General Networking- providing the opportunity for invited guests to meet and greet one another. During this period, professional executive coaches will observe the attendees to capture the pros and cons of guest interaction.

·      Welcome and Overview- A brief welcome to all attendees and a high level overview of the purpose and vision of nextTHURSDAYS.

·      Guest Speaker- The platform in which representatives from the sponsoring corporation lead a presentation on the specific industry track or conduct a panel discussion on industry topics of relevance.

·       Round Table– Attendees participate in a family style dinner (4-6 people per table) with facilitated dinner discussions that provide the opportunity to make substantive professional connections.
