What is nextMEDIA? nextMEDIA is a strategy adopted by the Chicago Urban League in February 2008 to give African Americans in Chicago a voice, to listen to the concerns of the larger community and to showcase African Americans’ successes through print, broadcast and online media. --Broadcast media The Chicago Urban League, under the leadership of President and CEO Cheryle R. Jackson, has created both a radio show and a television show to provoke an ongoing discussion about the issues critical to African Americans’ economic mobility. --Print media Cheryle R. Jackson is a featured weekly columnist in the Chicago Defender.
