“The Future of Economic Development for African Americans in the City of Chicago, 2008-2018”
In February 2008, the Chicago Urban League, in partnership with Global Business Network, released a research paper that presents four possible future scenarios for African Americans in metropolitan Chicago through the year 2018. Also known as “The Futures Study,” the research paper examines ways of building African American economic development, and strengthening Chicago’s global economic position. League researchers and consultants, with input from industry leaders and professionals culled in focus groups, submitted policy recommendations geared toward achieving the best possible future built around gains in education and economic empowerment.
