• Urban Youth Connection
The Chicago Urban League's Urban Youth Connection (UYC) – a mentoring, violence prevention/intervention, academic and recreational enrichment program - promotes social/emotional and behavioral development in high-risk African American males, ages 13-24.

UYC consists of holistic and comprehensive programming and activities that intentionally address the challenges and obstacles preventing youth and young adults from achieving self-sufficiency and personal success.

UYC focuses on positive and proactive approaches to addressing delinquent behavior such as impulse control, future orientation, self-regulation, and social information process which are predictive of crime and violence involvement.

Through a carefully designed curriculum which focuses on Social Emotional Learning, Violence Prevention and Intervention, and Academic Enrichment, participants are able to develop these skills which, ultimately leads to better decision making.
